Manhattan is a geographically tiny and wildly diverse island. With one of the primary transportation methods being the subway system, there have been many reports about the differences between the borough’s subway lines and stations.
For example. the New Yorker used the subway routes to look at income inequality, creating this very interesting interactive visualization of the results. In turn, WNYC mapped the temperatures of subway stations during a summer heat wave, showing which stations were the steamiest.
The graphic below is an equally informative look at the Manhattan subway, but it adds a healthy dose of snarky sarcasm. Do you agree with the creator’s assessment of which stops are for rich people, drunk college kits, or Jersey people?
