The series is titled ‘Gravity,’ but the photos are about the leap to defy its ever present force. The single figure in each photo is depicted striking a fun pose in high-contrast black and white. This composition helps the figure pop when viewed against the seamless muted gray background.
These mid-air moments are captured by photographer Tomas Januska for his final project at the University of East London. The Lithuanian artist began taking photographs only a few years ago, in 2009, when he received his first camera. Januska spent seven months working on this series of photographs which are soon to be exhibited in London.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I read the title, but I think it is a great project! Lovely how the people contrast to the sky!
